Can you beleive it! Our Avery is 3 months old, rolling over, talking, singing and on occasion throwin' fits. We have been to church, bible study, cook outs, visiting friends all over the city, plenty of dr visits, restaurants and even on a road trip! She's has been quite busy during her 3 months out of the womb, I think she's getting pretty used to her surroundings by now. Though I am sure she is wondering when things will cool off. Atlanta is in a serious heat wave and my poor little one sweats so bad in her car seat sometimes. So we're looking forward to fall.

Earrings!
So for her 3-month birthday (August 16) Miss Avery got her ears pierced! She did very well, I didn't get to take pictures of her getting them done, because I had to hold her down so the dr could get them just right. He was very good, he put the dot on her ear first exactly where he wanted them to go and then snapped them in with a little sterile one-time-use tool in a flash. She cried more because she was being held down by mama than from the actual piercing. This was much easier than the shots, piece of cake, well for me anyway :o)
Since Avery got new earrings, I just had to get her a new hair accessory. So I bought those headbands, but when it came down to it, I just did not have the nerve to take her out in public with that thing on, it just didn't do her justice. She was just perfect without it. Even though it looks sorta cute in pictures, it just looked funny to me and Mark.

Getting Blood Drawn
Avery has Eczema pretty bad and we had to go to Children's Hospital of Atlanta (CHOA) to get her blood drawn, she did so good, she only fussed for a moment and cried just a few tears. The nurse did have to stick her twice though, for some reason she didn't quite hit the vein the first time. So she got stuck in both arms, poor thing.
The dr says when she see's eczema this bad it may be a food allergy. So this blood test will tell us what she's allergic to and I can just eliminate that food from my diet and the ecsema may clear up. In the mean time she told us to bathe her in Cetaphil and use the Cetaphil cream to moisturize her skin. She is 2 1/2 months old and just such a big girl! Click on the image for more pictures.
1st Day Back to Work
Monday, July 30 was my first day back to work and Avery's first day in the care of someone else. Sunday night and Monday were pretty hard. I was just stressed by the idea of not getting to spend all day with her to spend all day with my co-workers. Not that I don't like the people I work with, but I would much rather be at home with Princess Avery. By Wednesday I was feeling much better, but it was still hard to get focused at work. And then I completely forgot about it so many times, but Thursday, August 2nd was my 30th birthday as well! I did call her caregiver everyday to get an update and that helped calm my nerves, too.

Grandma Adams and Cousins' Visit
We had a fabulous time at the family reunion in Charleston, South Carolina and we brought Grandma Adams and some cousins home with us. Aunt Sabrina took care of the Judah, Safiya, Baraka and Nailah and Grandma Adams stayed with us! Avery enjoyed all of the attention and talked to grandma all week long. The week ended at church and we had dinner at a Chinese buffet with April and Sidni. We also visited Nailah's Aunt Gina and her family.
2 month Dr visit, SHOTS!
Avery went to her 2 month dr visit when she was almost 2 1/2 months old. We postponed the visit until after the family reunion because she was getting her first round of shots and we didn't want her to be testy at the reunion since we knew she would have to sit in her car seat for the 5 hour drive and be passed around by loved ones. She got 5 immunizations, 2 in each thigh and one oral.
As we were waiting for the nurse to come in to give Avery her shots, I took a quick break to the restroom. I was pretty calm about the whole situation until I stood in the hallway of the dr's office waiting to get into the bathroom. I could here kids of all ages screaming from every room, it was like a torture chamber. There was no other way to describe it. I could here one child screaming "NOOOOOO! NOOOOOO!" repeatedly another child was saying "I didn't choose this, please don't don't!", and then you see the nurse walk out of the room and on to the next room to administer more pain to the next victim. It was unbelievable and got me sooooo nervous. Click the image for more pictures.
Avery is an extremely mild mannered baby, she only fusses when she is very hungry and squirms when she is ready for a diaper change or bed time. So it was very hard for Mark and I to see out little angel cry to the point of turning red after she was given her shots. Once the nurse finished, Mark held and soothed her while I cried and tried to tell Avery that everything was OK. Avery and I went to bible study later that day and she still was not herself, she was irritable and fussy. I think she was completely back to normal after about 2 days.

1st Sunday in Church
Avery's first Sunday in church was very nice. She slept through the entire service, so I am sure she enjoyed herself. After that we went to Aunst Sabrina's house for a little fun and then Noah's 1st birthday party. So she had a very full day.

5 weeks old
I called myself having a photo shoot and Avery was as cooperative as she could be for as long as she could stand it. We've started a night time routine as our dr suggested. So every night between 9 and 10 pm we take a bath, turn down the lights, turn on some lovely soft music and relax in our rocking chair. She starts to yawn right away, but usually takes anywhwere from 1 - 3 hours to actually get to sleep (depending on when her last nap was). She now can sleep a good 4 or even 5 hours at night before waking up hungry.
She's also cheesin' and making adorable faces all the time and just looking off into space. We wonder what she's looking at and who she's smiling at. I am convinced its the angels she left in heaven before she came into our lives. Click the image for more pictures.

2 1/2 to 4 weeks old

Avery Colleen - heeeere she is!
You all wanted pictures so here ya go. She was born on her due date which was Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 5:37 pm. She was 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches long. I was in labor from about 5 am Tuesday until she was born on Wednesday evening. Thanks to the good Lord I had my all natural unmedicated birth and it was amazing. Click on the image for more photos.

Week 38
My due date is in 3 days. Here's the most recent pregnancy photo I took, this was last week or the week before. So probably at like 38 weeks. Hard to keep up these last couple of weeks, not sure why. I guess because we've been working on getting so much stuff together and making sure we're ready - well as ready as we can be. I won't post again until after the baby so enjoy the photo and we should all be meeting baby Adams very soon!
Baby Room All Done
The baby room is all done. The only thing I have left to add is my rocking chair which came last week. As soon as the hubby puts that together we'll be in business. I think by the time I post pictures of that I will be sitting in it with my little bundle of joy! I went to the dr yesterday and I am already 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. I was just overwhelmed with joy and anticipation when the midwife told me that! I am so excited, Mark and I both are looking forward to this labor and delivery process and neither of us have a clue what to expect after that! Heaven sent baby shower
So I had a BABY SHOWER!!! My husband, mom, sister, sister-in-law and even my boss from work completely surprised me with it. The biggest surprise was my family flying in from Houston, I just had no idea and could not hold back the tears!! It was absolutely one of the most beautiful days of my life I will NEVER EVER forget it. I was dropped off on a Saturday afternoon in a parking lot by my husband, where I met 2 of my church members. I got out of hubby's car and into their car where I was blind-folded. Kamisha and Francesa then drove me to the home of my boss from work, Judy. Baby Room in progress...
So here are some shots of the baby room. We aren't done yet, haven't even put up our art work on the walls yet, we dont' have the furntiture and we need to do window treatments as well. The crib and changing table came this week, but the crib box said black on the outside, but when Mark opened it it was cherry wood on the inside. So we have to figure out how to get the doggone thing shipped back for the right color. So yes, all black furniture and sage green is our primary color. I haven't even figured out what the accent colors will be. Maybe you all can help me out with that. I think by the time I come up with something the baby will be here. Which is not necessarily a bad thing since we don't know the baby's sex. I'll post more pictures when we get things all done so you can see the finished product. Click on the image for more pictures.

27 - 33 weeks pregnant
More pictures of me and Baby Adams. We're getting along very well! The baby was still breech about 2 weeks ago and turned just in time for my Dr's appt. She is very well behaved already, I am so proud of her. The midwife told me that the baby usually turns between 28 and 32 weeks and when I went to the Dr I was about 29/30 weeks pregnant when he had'n't turned yet. Mama Adams 22- 24 weeks
My belly has been taking its time growing, even though I am more than half way through the pregnancy. Our little angel is nearly 2 lbs and very active. I feel him/her moving every day now!
